This is a hands-on position.  This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.


JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Buyer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day purchasing activities within assigned areas of our Manufacturing Department.  This position will be responsible for purchasing and materials logistics to support all stages of product development, working side by side with engineers and manufacturing personnel in a dynamic and engaging environment.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in the Corporation’s success, ensuring that we continually meet required production schedules as well as managing end-to-end materials procurement for internal developments.

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accountable for creating Purchase Orders in ERP system, maintain accurate open PO lines to define inbound quantities and due dates from suppliers, track in transit shipments, and expedite deliveries as needed
  • Participate in S&OP process including demand and material planning for assigned product portfolios/vendors
  • Analyze material inventory and accountable for maintaining sufficient safety stock and inventory projection for the materials
  • Actively support new business initiatives, new product launches, and product rationalizations
  • Ensure that production orders are scheduled correctly based on demand/stock levels and available production capacity
  • Support avoidance of downtimes due to missing raw material and simultaneously meeting the inventory target. Have proper back-up documentation
  • Communicate material quality and delivery change requirements to suppliers in an MRP environment
  • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management as required
  • Purchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality, and delivery

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • or Associate’s degree, with 1 years of relevant experience
  • or High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with 2 years of relevant experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant, as outlined above.
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing/ production environment a plus
  • Understanding and hands-on experience with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems such as SAGE or equivalent a plus.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, & ATTRIBUTES:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to commit and work under deadlines
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency working with large data sets
  • Must be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability, and professional development.
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to self-learn and work in new technology domains.
  • Highly self-motivated.

PAY RANGE:
  • Hourly: $26.44 ($55,000) - $31.25 ($65,000)
Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
